About us

The Angela Bamford Foundation is a Ghanaian private foundation founded and headed by Media Personality and Entrepreneur, Angela Bamford. Based in Accra, Ghana, it was launched early 2021 as a Charitable foundation with the motto of Serving Humanity, One Community at a Time.

The primary goals of the foundation are to assist needy communities in their areas of need particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, women and community empowerment until those communities are self-sustaining and self-supporting.

A key scheme of the Foundation is its "10 Communities Library Initiative". As part of the initiative, the Foundation cut sod for the first of the ten sustainable libraries for the Larabanga Community in the West Gonja district of the Savannah region to commemorate the foundation's launch.

10 Community Library Initiative

“If you want to hide something from an African, put it in a book” or so goes the saying. Although this spiteful statement is completely false, with Africa housing most of the world’s oldest and most historic libraries, the decline of the patronage of Ghana’s Library culture is a saddening trend. Currently in Ghana, the Ghana Library Authority estimates that there are about 78 public libraries in the country. This is a dismal number especially since about 17 of those 78 are Academic libraries centered on specialised tertiary education. That is why Angela Bamford Foundation settled on putting up 10 sustainable libraries in 10 Northern communities.
